Description
Contemporary classical composer David Power is probably best known for his late 1990s piano work
Eight Miniatures. Here he collects together archive and more current recordings in an eclectic mix of
dark alternative post punk pop, piano pieces and electronica.
Threshold brings together the different facets of Power’s musical explorations across several decades;
from the Eno influenced ambient electronic pieces Vestiges 4,6 and 7 which date from 2013, to
chamber music – Mosaic (2002) and Platinum (2011) – and the Stockhausen influenced Thirteen
from 2019. The six rock songs all date from the early 1980s and feature two different band lineups
from that time.
