Description
Side A History
Side B History (acoustic version)
Marseille mark their return with “History.” A heartfelt, ambitious, and a downright ballsy single which will be sure to be the focal point of any indie-rock playlist you have this year. The single will drop on January the 24th 2025 across all major streaming platforms, accompanied by a limited edition run of 250 7inch records.
History is a track that really tugs at the heartstrings, a song that is a love letter to the dreams we all had as children, being remembered as a legend of your era. But all the while having that big beat in your face swagger that Marseille naturally carries around wherever they go. A gorgeously well-crafted song which is excellently brought to life by Wolf Alice’s producer Michael Smith.
Singer Will Brown said this about the single:
“History is a simple song which applies to any young person with big aspirations, it’s probably the most personal to us as a collective as we fit that criterion. We are 5 young lads that want our legacy to be remembered, and that is one of the most special things that anyone can ever write about.”
About Marseille:
Hailing from the depths of northern Derbyshire, Marseille is a five-piece indie rock/shoegaze band making waves in the UK music scene leading the charge for the musical revival the whole world needs. At an average age of just 19, the group—featuring Will Brown (vocals), Joe Labram (lead guitar), Lennon Hall (guitar), Will Sabey (bass), and Tom Spray (drums)—has already completed a successful UK tour, selling out 150-250 capacity venues.
Marseille have laid down the foundations for an eye catching 2025 after 2 years of grafting, playing encapsulating shows and doing things differently to everyone else musically. Waves of psych, groove and emotion make sure the audience never has a moment to lose interest. They carry a free zero-fucks given swagger which is a breath of fresh air in the modern-day music industry.
