The Feat is a Chicago DIY punk and indie rock band built from long-running fixtures of the city’s underground scene. Its members have deep roots in 90s and 2000s mixed-bill shows, basement gigs, and tours that crossed paths with the broader Midwest DIY network. Collectively they’ve played in projects like Towers, Stillwell, Engines, Ghost Towns, Sore History and others, giving The Feat a seasoned musical identity that blends melodic punk, indie rock and emo without fitting cleanly
into any single lane. Their songwriting leans heavily into emotional grit, sharp guitar work and the kind of lived-in perspective that comes from decades in the community.
Schemes for Decades is the band’s debut LP, released as a true DIY collaboration between six independent labels — a reflection of the band’s longstanding ties to the punk and indie community. The record moves between high-energy anthems and introspective moments, built on memorable melodies and a confident, recognizable style.
