Description

Both EPs by Portland, Oregon based heavy/goth upstarts Unto Others on one collectible CD!
This new version of ‘Don’t Waste Your Time’ unifies parts I & II.

In addition to the songs that were previously only released on the limited exclusive ‘Don’t Waste Your Time II’ single this release contains new packaging, lyric booklet plus completely new artwork, a drawn implementation of the original cover, by Adam Burke (Nightjar Illustration) which now seamlessly fits into the band’s other album artworks (Mana, Strength). Unto Others consist of Gabriel Franco (vocals/guitar), Brandon Hill (bass), Sebastian Silva (guitar) and Colin Vranizan (drums).

The band formed in Portland, Oregon in 2017 and quickly made waves across the Pacific Northwest under their previous band name, Idle Hands. After the “Don’t Waste Your Time” EP released in 2018, they released their debut album “Mana” (Eisenwald) in 2019, which was immediately voted the second-best album of the year by metal.de. In addition to many top lists, the album also received praise from many other places. Stereogum named Unto Others one of the “40 Best New Bands of 2019” and
wrote: “In an alternate reality, where the ’80s flirtation with both genres lingered on into the decades that followed, nearly every song on the debut would be the band a hit”.

In 2021, the band from Portland, Oregon struck out for a second coup with “Strength”. The Arthur Rizk produced album (Cavalery Conspiracy, Power Trip) rocked with 3 singles and official videos (directed by Brock Grossl) to convince the audience again. It brought the band, among other things, the Soundcheck victory in Rock Hard and positive feedback from Metal.de, Hammer, Decibel, Kerrang and many others. Unto Others’ innovative combination of gothic, rock and metal pushes the genre over the edge with familiar, comforting elements.

Creating a mix of heavy, dark, melodic songs intertwined with traditional metal remains the band’s forte. The US magazine Heavy Consequence wrote “Franco sounds more like Robert Smith than Bruce Dickinson, although both The Cure and Iron Maiden cut through in his band’s sound.” for the Metal Hammer “the unique style mix of Fields Of The Nephilim, Killing Joke and New Wave Of British Heavy Metal is convincing in every mixing ratio”, while KERRANG! closing notes say “Follow the band into the sunset and Unto Others will reward you with infinitely dark joy.”
