Jimmy‘s mighty combo, The Blues Blasters, was anchored first by guitarist Robert Kelton and then blistering fretsman Lafayette Thomas, whose slashing licks perfectly counterpointed tough horn sections and McCracklin’s own boogie‐fired 88s.
