Charm, modesty and a lot of talent. As one of the most characteristic sounding groups in Europe
today, PERRY DEAR & THE DEARSTALKERS display their very distinctive sound that has made them
one of the most «in demand» groups on the Big Beat scene.
Nowadays there are a significant lot of contemporary bands playing garage rock. Furthermore there
are a handful of groups playing «Merseybeat» and even fewer «Shadows instrumental bands».
And then there´s PERRY DEAR & THE DEERSTALKERS. Steeped in the golden age of the instrumental
circa April 1962 to December 1963, when Fender six string bass instrumentals posed a serious threat
to both Merseybeat and the «Shadows guitar groups». It is no exaggeration to state that PERRY
DEAR & THE DEERSTALKERS are experts in their field. Just listen for yourself. After several EPS and
their fantastic debut LP «Six‐String Holiday», the talented Norwegian quartet went to the famous
London‐based Toe Rag studio for two days and recorded their second LP, «Oh Dear!». Its
mindblowing sound will catch you in one instant.
The boys’ influences range from JET HARRIS, THE DAVE CLARK FIVE, BRIAN POOLE AND THE
TREMELOES and SOUNDS INCORPORATED to “newer” acts like THE KAISERS, BILLY CHILDISH and
many more. Don’t miss out on this fabulous piece of vinyl!
